Went over material included in the new haunted houses book. Found out I had forgotten to include YET ANOTHER THING so I added it and I also fixed some mistakes I had missed in the last review. Is this the book where I keep forgetting to include things in the revision/production process?? I wonder. But I'm glad I caught those things this time. I also added more stuff.

Yesterday and today, I went over the PDF proof of my forthcoming novel. Finished going over it and sent back a list of mistakes that I missed during the last read-through.

My writing schedule was messed up so I made some changes today. Now, hopefully, it will work out better this week and I can get more things done with more books.

Received a possible cover image for my novel today. I liked it a lot. Gave the okay to use it. Will share on my writing blog soon.

Today I received images from my publisher for possible use on my novel’s cover. We went over them and I STILL couldn’t decide between two of a certain image that I liked. It was suggested to me that I ask my kids to pick so I did. They both selected one image so that’s the one that was chosen! I am just glad I did not have as much trouble with the character image.

Worked on novel revisions.

Wrote some poems for the poetry book.

Did some research for the Supernatural book. I have decided that there is enough material in this show for this kind of book but I will finish out the year gathering information for it before I put together my book proposal.

Got an idea for a new chapter in the book I’m writing about overcoming fear. Added it to the TOC and started writing this chapter today.

I also filled out a form for my publisher about the forthcoming novel. Gave them info for cover ideas and stuff. Excited to move forward with this one!

Added more material to the Tennessee section in the new version of the haunted houses book. Finished Tennessee (with my son’s help! Thanks, Jesse!).

Yesterday, I worked on revision requests for a novel I have coming out soon. I finished that up and sent it back to my publisher. Then I realized I forgot to check for typo and spacing hiccups that tend to slip in at this point during the edits and I did that this morning then sent it to her AGAIN, apologizing for the mistake and politely requesting that she use THAT file instead. Fortunately, she didn’t bite my head off! (Thanks, Denise!) So that is done and I got the final file back today to review before it goes to the printer. I am excited about this novel's forthcoming publication!

Also, I recently decided that it was time to start writing my story about being a burn survivor. I decided on a title for this book and wrote down ideas for chapters today. I had 18 so far! I guess I have a lot to say about being a burn survivor. So I have that foundation in place to get started writing THAT book.

I updated some other files as well and stuck them into my writing notebook. I have a new strategy for working on books and finishing things up for the remainder of the year! So I’ll be sticking to THAT plan. And I don’t have a fiction book that I am working on right now – until I remembered that I’d only written ONE page for GHOST Group 7! Good grief! It’s crazy because I went on to write Books 8-12. And I didn’t even finish writing the 7^th book first? Ugh!! Well, I am going to work on finish writing GHOST Group 7 for the rest of the year, while working on the other books I have slated for the remainder of the year. Then, when that's done, in 2018, I will start the revision process for Books 5-12. I plan to submit Book 5 in January.

This month's book to finish writing is a poetry book. The theme is deafness/being deaf. Anything related to the deaf world. So I started putting together a manuscript of what poems I have for this book so far. I also hope to finish writing the first book in the "Revise Your Writing" series. I only need about 5 chapters for that one!

Read over the rest of what I have written in the reference book for authors. I have decided to finish writing this book. I must stick to my original plan to finish writing books this year. The new stuff must not happen yet. This book must be finished. No matter what happens later in life and what I do, I will still be an author – I HAVE authored books – so this book would still be useful and I can use it as a guide. And maybe it will be useful to other authors. And I would not have been able to hand this manuscript off to some other writer to finish, anyway, since it's a spinoff of one of my other published books. The publisher of that book didn't want this one, though. Maybe I will find a publisher for this one. And I DO still want to submit nonfiction books to publishers. I feel that nonfiction books are my strength – pretty much why I decided to self-pub future novels. I guess I'm not a good fiction writer. Oh, well! Anyway, I got to work writing in the book.
